Ending the Stereotypes of Success and Autism For Kids with Emotional Intelligence books, Elon Musk is on the autism spectrum

“It’s  time to end the stereotypes of success and kids and people with autism are slow, not smart or maybe less successful in life.  Elon Musk,  multi billionaire, entrepreneur, and one of the most successful and richest people in the world , admitted to being on the autism spectrum as he has Asperger.”  – Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel, 8 year old prodigy and best selling author.  ”For many people and young children, if provided a nourishing environment with loving caregivers, resources that teach how to manage emotions then more children will learn to manage emotions and be successful as is  the case of Elon Musk,” says Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel.  Jomo Jesus writes books on emotional intelligence that empower kids and neurodivergent learners to matar emotions and break stereotypes about kids needing medication for misbehavior and emotional outbursts.

Neurodivergent learners as well as kids are prone to powerful emotional outbursts and the problem of giving medication to cure misbehaving children is a major problem.  The alternative is teaching and developing emotional literacy, coping skills, self-awareness, and learning emotional intelligence. Many  children are quickly diagnosed as needing medication and  as special education needs children without really understanding emotional literacy and how to develop emotional skills. There are many smart and successful  people on the autism spectrum. 8 year old prodigy, Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel, stated  “It’s  time to end the stigma of kids and people with autism are slow and not smart.  Elon Musk,  multi billionaire, entrepreneur, and one of the richest people in the world , admitted to being on the autism spectrum as he has Asperger.”  Unlocking the potential of all kids and especially neurodivergent children is important to him and he writes about emotional intelligence stories for children but they are also helpful adults too.

Neurodivergent children often have great abilities that without a nurturing environment and or over medication can rob the world of the next Elon Musk. An alternative to medication is teaching emotional literacy and simulating situations to help young kids learn to manage emotions.  However, there are few books that teach about simulated environment and situations for kids to manage emotions. Unfortunately, emotional literacy and mental well-being books for children are sparse. During the CoVID-19 pandemic, then 4 years old, Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel went  to his local library within the children’s section, there  were few displays for books to help children, especially neurodivergent children understand emotional literacy.  He went and checked other libraries and  then checked Amazon.com and he thought it was strange that most libraries and Amazon.com did not have many books focused on children’s managing emotions and improving  children’s mental well-being.   He wrote his first children’s book Super  Happy kid Defeats the Angries for himself and other kids to learn to manage emotions.  He decided to make it his mission to help kids, especially neurodivergent learners, have books that teach emotional literacy. He started writing books about anger management at the age of four.  He was encouraged to write and help other children by  his father, Jomo Gamal Thomas, who helped him to illustrate his books  and develop software games for young kids to manage emotions. Now at 8 years old, he is a best selling author of emotional intelligence picture books that focuses on the mental well being of kids and helping neurodivergent  children understand how to manage emotions.  The two main characters, Sid the Super Happy Kid and Laura the Emotions Explorer are focused on helping young kids manage emotions and helping children, including  neurodivergent learners.   on a mission to help children including neurodivergent learners learn emotional literacy and emotional intelligence.  Recent studies from the CDC (Center for Disease Control Agency in the USA) shows that one in 36 children is now diagnosed with autism.  Mental health and well-being for kids, as well as the development of emotional intelligence for children, are increasingly important matters for educators, parents, children, and caregivers.  According  to research published in the British Medical Bulletin, approximately 15% to 20% of people globally are considered neurodiverse.  Neurodiverse includes the following: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, Bipolar Disorder, Tourette Syndrome and Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

Laura and her brother Sid have space adventures and tackle emotional challenges that make the volcanoes on Planet Moodswing erupt.   Laura and Sid, the story’s superhero siblings, use their special powers to help other children who are stressed out in school because of an upcoming math test.  In his sequel, The Angry Vacuum, Sid and Laura have to help children deal with an out-of-control A.I. (artificial intelligence) robot because the teacher forgot to set a timer and now emotions of both the children and the robot are out of control. The valuable lesson learned is how kids can learn through example ways to resolve their emotions and use coping techniques to calm their emotions.  Both books won the Literary Titan Gold Awards, making him one of the youngest winners to receive the award.   Additionally, he has received many positive reviews on GoodReads and received multiple five star reviews by Readers’ Favorite for The Angry Vacuum and The Emotions Volcano.  Jomo Jesús Thomas Suriel continues his mission to help children around the globe learn emotional intelligence.
